I am just amazed that people think Wikilinks is pure truth with no bias or agenda. Sheeple.

Because sometimes people die when secrets get to our enemies. Would you call exposing the identity of a undercover agent transparency?

Do you think any society, business, family or even individual could survive without keeping somethings secret? We want an transparent government in one sense but we do not want a suicidal government that gives away all defensive advantage. Heck, even football teams keep their playbooks secret.
