Why do people complain that Palin "lied" about being in Iraq - when she never said

such a thing? The only report purportedly from the Palin camp about being in Iraq was a report of an unnamed, anonymous (redundant, I know) source who was purportedly a Palin aide who said that Palin stepped across the Kuwait/Iraq border on a visit to Kuwait.

Here's what MSNBC said about it:

"On Saturday, a Palin aide told The Associated Press the governor also set foot in Iraq during her July 2007 trip to see members of the Alaska National Guard, although the campaign has not emphasized it since the visit was brief. The aide, who demanded anonymity before answering the question, said Palin visited a "military outpost" on the Iraq side of the Kuwait/Iraq border."

Since that report, Palin's staff has resolved the issue.

Did the reporter lie? Did an anonymous staffer lie? Maybe.

    Did Palin lie? NO.

the point is that when you have reputation for lying, the idea that some staff got it in their head to say that Palin was in Iraq strains credibility.

To me, it just seems if Palin was engaging in another lie.

On the other hand, why does it no strike me odd that her staff would lie?

I really doesn't matter Who said it, It was said. If it was a Palin aide then she needs to have better communications with them so that they do not make things up to make her look like a Liar. She does that good enough on her own. In this election, everything can and will be used against them. Everytime Obama says anything, the words get twisted around to make him look bad. What goes around comes around.
