Thread: Why do people complain that MTV doesn't play enough music?

The internet makes it so easy to watch a video any artist of your choice, a simply youtube search takes you right there.

With music all the time, people would be complaining that artists they like aren't getting any airtime, and with the internet being a (quicker) alternative, most people wouldn't even watch MTV.

With shows you at least know what you are getting. Be it some dating show or road rules, you have a general idea of what is going to be shown. No need for wasting time watching stuff you don't like.

I think people just complain because when MTV originally started in the early 80's, it's whole format was pretty much just music videos and music news. It was meant to give people a channel devoted to nothing but music and the new medium of music videos. MTv has obviously veered very far from that original mission today and many people who remember the early days resent that.

MTV= Music Television

There's nothing that resembles music on that station anymore.
