Why the delay in changing Mark-to-Market accounting rules? Conservatives were

screaming this 6 months ago!? Market is rallying because the government finally changed the Mark-to-Market accounting rules. Why did they wait so long to do this?

If the grassroot Democrats really knew what their Party Leaders were really up to...they would leave that Party.

And why didn't the conservatives change these rules when they controlled Congress and the White House?

Its horseshit that they changed them, but our government is in bed with these assholes anyways.

"duhhh, why should we have to 'mark' our assets to market price, we should be able to keep the asset value inflated so we can bilk, I mean encourage new investors"

If the only way to get a "rally" was to let them go back to being even MORE relaxed with their accounting then it wont be a true recovery and we'll have another scandal from a major corp in 2 years.

Because the government thinks they know how to run a business better than business does. I work for a bank and can tell you first hand that those accounting rules inhibited our ability to loan money for no good reason..

Quite often the assets being marked down to market price were really worth much more. They weren't in any real danger of defaulting and the banks will likely get paid in full and on time..
