Thread: why are americans whining so much about the price of gas?

$4 a gallon for petrol(gas) that's 8 and a half litres!

here in ireland,and pretty much the rest of europe we pay like,€1.20 a litre so thats €10.20 a gallon,we aren't whining saying we're going to have to cut our travel.

we'd love to only pay $4 p/g so with currency exchanged thats about €2.50p/g as the euro's a lot stronger than the dollar

i'd hate to see yous all having to pay what we pay here,the country would panick an spiral out of control

Most of the USA with the exception of major cities (but not mine, Kansas City) don't have mass transportation. We also have to drive quite a distance to get a decent wage. Yes I walk to the grocery store and park, but when you have to pay all your medical insurance, life insurance, disability insurance , car insurance, home insurance and all other insurance, plus house payment, utilities etc. having to spend half your paycheck on your vehicle gets old. And I do drive a car that gets 30+ miles to the gallon. So we are not whining, we are drowning and most of us cant afford it and may lose are homes and jobs due to it
