Thread: who do you complain to for a HIPPA violation? Medical privacy violation.?

I was hospitalized and request a "Do Not Announce" on my behalf. I know this request was honored because my family tried to contact me at the hospital but was told that no patient by my name was in the hospital. yet another individual for which the request was made was able to go to the hospital and walk up to the floor I was admitted on and get to my room. I complained to the hospital administration yet they stated that after an audit they could not find anyone who gave the information away? This is a large inner city hospital with three towers(buildings) of patient rooms and departments. How was not able to get an explanation from the hospital how someone can show up and know exactly where do find me. My location was not told to anyone by me. There was definitely a breach in hospital staff. I want something done. The reasons for the do not announce where for my safety.
