Furthermore, Christianity was wide-spread in Nazi Germany. Muslims have Jesus, just not the same versions Christians have. Christianity was not banned during Imperial Japan, and it is not banned today. In Japan, where Shinto and irreligion are widespread, has a much lower crime rate than the US, including rural Louisana.

We *do* know that some of what he said came from the Bible. That doesn't make it not hateful. The Bible is full of contradictory claims, and much of it is hateful. Some Christians choose to cherrypick to follow the nicer stuff. Some Christians cherry pick out the hateful stuff. Just because some Iron Age bigot wrote it first doesn't make it not bigotted. And good luck finding a passage where Jesus says that blacks were happy under Jim Crow, and that social welfare programs made them start "singing the blues". Maybe it's in there around where Jesus says that how you treat the least of his brothers is how you treat him, or where he says to sell all your possessions and give all your money to the poor.
