    What Is Causing Engine Whine?

I have two 4 ch amps and a crossover.one amp on bass an one on mids. i am getting a engine whine from the mids amp. i noticed when i unplugged the rca jacks the noise stops i also have noise suppressors on the line. what is causing this???

the amp on bass is in the trunk an the mids under the front seat. and no i did not run the rca and power together but i did run the speaker and rca wires together. is that a problem?

You have a ground loop somewhere... the noise supressor should help...

do you have the rca cables and power to the amps running together... try running the sub amp down the drivers side, and the mids down the passenger side,

if u mean u are getting a whine noise from the engine then check you're alternator belt as u are demanding more load (running the amps) the noise means wear or needs tightening to the belt

if the whine is coming through your speakers then it sounds like a ground loop. if it is from the engine sounds like maybe you are putting to much strain on the alt. or its a belt
