Thread: Very vivid dream..body shaking, screaming but no sound and flashes of light?

I had a VERY vivid dream last night, I'm pretty sure i thought it was real. Basically what happened is I was dreaming vividly until I realized i was in bed. I then heard my voice narrate "and that's when things got weird" and right after my body started shaking uncontrollably, I shot up from a lying down position to a sitting one with my body still shaking and that's when I got scared because I knew something wasn't right so I yelled at the top of my lungs for my mom but no sound came out. The second I began to scream (or attempted to) bright flashes of light as if they were from a camera flash began to flash over and over and over again, at which point I shot to the back of my bed towards my headboard, still shaking, at which point I made the conscious decision that whatever was happening I wasn't going to allow it to happen to me and I said no..NO..at this point I decided to protect myself by visualizing white light around me and it was at that exact time that I woke up. Any ideas anyone?

That sounds very like an epileptic seizure, possibly right temporal lobe epilepsy.

These are the same symptoms, interestingly enough, that preceded Paul's devout adoption of Christianity.

Vivid hallucinations of speech from self or disembodied voices. Flashes of light across the field of vision. Rigidity of limbs and torso.
