Why do theists argue that an atheistic worldview is not good, rather than argue that

it isn't true? It seems like many religious arguments end up misaligned, like cars passing each other on a 2-way highway instead of meeting head on... when the crux of the argument is reached, the theist is arguing that belief makes them happy while the atheist is arguing that belief is wrong.

Why aren't theists looking for the accurate worldview from the get-go?

Because they can ONLY argue for their belief and that they think it's best for humanity, not that said belief is a valid one.

I'd give them a little slack - they're not saying that their belief is true, just that parts of humanity need that belief, which I for one don't deny. What I do object to is the notion that EVERYONE needs the same placebo.

Categories like true and false apply to things like scientific theories.

Categories like good and bad apply to things like morality.

It is not a good idea to try and reduce one to the other, but reductionists on both sides do it.

    There exists no atheistic worldview.

The only thing theists tend to attack are atheist strawmans. William Lane Craig is a good example of someone who loves to do this.
