Homecoming is this saturday, I'm super excited because I moved last year to a new school but I'm going to my old school's homecoming:heart:. My best friend is going along with our little group, the thing is I have strong feelings for my best friend. :xp: He's too dense to ever notice and I'm too afraid of rejection/awkwardness if I mention anything. He drops hints that he has feelings for me but I don't think it's enough to go out with me. Anyways, for over 3 years I've had to watch him like, flirt, and go on dates with other girls. Sometimes I wanted to just cut all ties with him but he's the closest person to me. I have no idea why I have feelings for him, btw. :stare: The feelings are on and off.
I'm hyped up for homecoming and a week before we hang out. He shows me this text from a girl he use to like saying she's excited to go to homecoming with him. Of course, it crushes me but I faked a smile and asked why'd he ask her. He says, "I didn't ask her, she asked me" and he tells me he isn't sure if he likes her. But I tell myself go to homecoming anyways, dance with craploads of guys, and have a shitload of fun with everyone! Still, the thought of watching him with her is bugging the crap out of me. My other best friend invites me to dinner at a restaurant before the dance with her boyfriend, my best friend, and me. It cheered me up thinking I could have fun before homecoming with him. THEN he texts me hours later asking if SHE can come. Me being fucking nice and all says "yeah, sure.

Now I feel like I won't have fun at all because a girl I haven't even met who's crushing on him that he use to like and might like again is bugging me, should I still go?
Side note: My lil group of friends all have dates from the school. I don't want to be the 9th wheel either.
