Could be that you startle him.
Do you keep your house quiet while he sleeps?
If he is use to a quiet atmosphere then he will startle easier.
He will eventually get use to the loud sounds the more...

She will probably just get a very upset tummy...
She will probably just get a very upset tummy with vomiting and or diarrhea. I would try giving water to her and just keep an eye on her.
