I am tired of people labeling bands as “sellouts” or “posers” just because they made some money. What band does not want to make money? That just shows they are getting a bigger audience and spreading their message. It also happens when a band gets merchandise. I’ll admit that an anti-establishment band should not be about merchandise. But there is still the money thing. Would you be able to resist thousands of dollars (probably more) to just put your logo on a t-shirt and stuff? I don’t think I could. These guys are making top dollar for doing nothing. Isn’t that the American dream? So stop yelling “poser” whenever a band gets popular or makes some money. It’s what bands set out to do. Sure, they do it for the music and stuff too. But they cannot say the groupies, money and fame did not play a part in the decision to form a band.
