our 8 month old son has started acting up and getting very upset if we're not right there. we have no problems putting him down at night or leaving him with a babysitter it's more of during the day (i'm a stay at home mom) and if i'm not holding him or on the ground playing with him (ie letting him crawl all over me) then he is screaming or crying! this is our first child so i'm not quite sure how to proceed. my husband and i have both dealt with a lot of children in our professional careers and i don't want to cater to this behavior as i don't want him to be spoiled when he's older. but i also want to make sure i am giving him enough interaction and attention! does anyone know if there is a certain amount of time a child should be able to play with toys in a play pen or on the floor - obviously while being supervised - but without actually sitting with/on an adult?
