Is it okay for your bed to be over the furnace/vent?

There's a little more than half a foot space between the furnace/vent/whatever it is and the bed . is that okay?

As long as you have adequate heat in the room yes. Having the vent partially blocked by furniture will reduce the efficiency of your heating system, but it is not dangerous.
