My six week old baby wakes at 4am and screams for an hour, i cant settle her and

have tried everything.? Eventually she will fall asleep for a couple of hours before waking for a feed. During this hour of screaming she will be on and off the breast but not feeding properly. Holding her doesnt help, i never leave her to scream, should i? She sometimes gets crabby in the evenings too but not as bad as in the morning. Im finding it so exhausting please help!!! It also makes me sad that whenever she is awake she is such hard work that i just want her to go to sleep and i feel like i am wasting these precious weeks with her!

i wouldnt suggest ignorin her or nytin, i've got a 3 week old and hav been told that they never cry for nothin. im currently alwys up at 4am wit him and the only way i hav managed to put him to slp is by expressin before hand and givin it to him by bottle (so i would know how muc i was givin him) plus he used to stick to the breast cos he found it comforting n i was stayin too long. after a big feed,i hold him and just before he nods off, i put him in his crib.
if a big feed dsnt help then i would sugggest takin him to ur doc just to make sure but if he's sick he wouldnt just be wakin at 4am. also avoid high caffeine foods, at least before u go to bed b/c it would get him aggitated. go online and hav a luk at foods to avoid (drinks lots of water during the day,esp between feeds), i did and he seems better already! gud luck!

Is that really what they do?

Because I'm getting a new baby brother or sister in December or January!
