Thread: My Chihuahua Screams?

I have a female Chihuahua named Britta. She is going on four months. I have had since she was a little over 6wks. No matter how many times we introduce her to people and the same people at that she screams and I mean screams like she a child who sounds like they are being beaten'? How can I help her not to be so afraid. She has never been hurt, she is good with my kids whom she adores. She is good with my husband and she loves me to pieces. She also has other playmates that our chi's. I just don't want her to be frightened. It makes me sad for her.

Watch "Its Me or the Dog"on Animal Planet.They say acting neutral and not "rewarding"the behaviour first,then every time doggy is quiet give her a little treat.She will soon learn to associate being quiet and having visitors with a good thing-treats and praise.It does take time & practice,but it is worth it.If all else fails,talk to your vet or local humane society counselor.Good luck.
