My son is almost 6 months old, and recently he began whining for attention the second we put him down. He will make these "Mmmm, hmmmm, uhmmmmm!" sounds that grow in intesity and won't stop until he's picked up or played with. I know he's not hungry or tired and that it's just for attention, because the second I stop and look at him he giggles.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help curb this habit? We give him plenty of love and attention and I would just like him to learn to entertain himself a bit while I clean up or take a short break. I always put toys and things down with him, but he's just not interetsed in anything other than me or my husband.

Any tips or suggestions on how to deal with this behavior would be appreciated.

Thank you.
