Thread: Loss of voice after screaming?

I recently started learning to scream (metal etc) since I'm a fan and I'd like to learn. It doesn't hurt my throat, I saw a few videos on YouTube that were very helpful, I'm still practicing to keep my control over my scream. The weird thing is though that after I scream I sorta lose my voice or at least I cant sing or talk high and my voice goes a little hoarse for a day or so. No pain. Should that happen? Does that mean that I'm getting there? Any pro screamers what happened when you were learning?

m not a screamer but i have some friends who are screamers.losing voice without a sore throat is not a good symptom.consult some experts any try screaming otherwise you may screw your voice and it could be permanent
