i have lots of nightmares...kinda got used to it...so dont tell me stories bout shrinks. i cant sleep if i stuff a sock in my mouth...any ideas how to stop the screaming?

not sure how to help you... maybe you should just live with it, because if you're asleep then you cant hear it
just get anyone sleeping nearby to wear earplugs to bed.
Personally speaking here, I've found that there are a few things that make me dream so vividly that I end up acting out in my sleep.
First, if sometimes I go to bed with something weighing on my mind or my emotions are in an up roar then I tend to have crazy dreams that I act out in. Waking up arguing with someone who isn't there or like you, screaming.
When your emotions are upset and you go to bed thinking on something thats on your mind and heart this would lead to wild dreams.
Second, leaving a radio on or tv tends to make me have wild vivid dreams. For some reason my subconscious mind takes in all the sounds and I end up having some insane dream.
The only thing I have found that helps is having no sound except for a fan blowing and one of those noise machines that makes the waves sound. I don't have it up loud but just barely audible that I can hear it. Finally after clearing my mind I will lay there and become as un-tense as possible. Then I am able to sleep and not have crazy dreams.
