...projects' in some of the bills passed? Looking at today's batch--the farm subsidies bill--I found that two-thirds of it would be going towards paying for food stamps, heating assistance, and other necessities for the American people--while a smalle chunk would go towards farm subsidies and continued progress towards alternate bio-fuels.

And--gauging from some responses by posters on other like-minded questions--complaints have risen about how all of the above is considered 'wasteful spending' and unnecessary.

So my questions are these:

Why haven't these same posters complained when the GOP loaded their bills with over 2000 pork-barrel projects in 2005?

Why is it so different when it come to Democrats doing the same for themselves--with the American people in mind? (And not Corporate America--as in the case of the 2005 pork barrel legislation passed later that year?)

What do these same posters have against the poor and the elderly getting extra assistance from their government--when they need it the most?
Just to clarify on the farm subsidies bill: Bush claims that farmers are making a killing over the recent spike in corn and soybeans--and the subsidies aren't needed.

But recent reports are painting a grim picture: Most farmers are barely breaking even--in face of high gas prices and the high demand for both corn and soybean crops; making what many thought would be a banner year in profits--? Not even close to the actual truth.
