Thread: How do I encourage sooner induction? (I apologize now if it sounds like

complaining.. it kinda is)? I am 40 weeks, I have barely passed my due date, but my doctor is already talking about Non-Stress Testing. But that wont be at least until Next Thursday.
I was diagnosed with gallstones at 38 weeks.
I have just finished healing up from an abscess that was between my leg and pubic hair line (couldn't walk for three days because I didn't go in for surgery until it was 3 inches long.)
Now I can't sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time because the weight of the baby takes the breath out of me, he hasn't dropped yet, and I can't get comfortable.
The doctor has already mentioned induction but like I said, not until after the 41st week starts.

Can anyone think of something I can say to push it along sooner?
Plus I am only 50% effaced..

As uncomfortable as you are, unless there is a medical reason you could cause more problems by pushing induction this early. If the baby hasn't even dropped yet then he's not ready, once the baby drops though you will be able to breathe and at least the process will be started.

Maybe try going for a long walk. Also, if you have a birthing ball sitting on that and rocking your pelvis side to side will help move the baby into position.
