Thread: How can I get my dog to stop whining while riding in the car?

My female chocolate labrador whines when she rides in the car. She is a quite dog except when she is riding in the car. Obviously she is not comfortable riding in a car, but I would like to help make things better for her. Does anyone have any ideas to make the car ride easier for her and why she is whining?

Try getting her in the car with out going anywhere, if she is doing good give her a treat, if she starts to cry don't comfort her.

Only reward for good behavior, then start going places with her in the car. She will get used to it. Also the more secure she is with you being a good leader the more secure she will be when she goes places.
