hi,

i was wondering if anyone could provide a bit of insight on Holden Caulfield's rant about Romeo + Juliet in Catcher in the Rye.

I have read the spark notes, and my own copy of the book - so i have a pretty good understanding of the character profile of Holden (who he is, and why he acts the way he acts.)

What i need to know is... how does his rant about r+j reflect that??

thanks!!

ps: his rant was about how he was so much more sad when marcutio died, because holden liked him more - anyways, it was romeo's fault that macutio died anyways.

again, thnx!!
