Yes, that was the visual bite the media used to discredit him.

The supposedly liberal media.

Not the scream itself, but the media abuse on that scream to make it look as if it was something embarrassing and the stupid people who gave a lot of importance to that scream. People with no brains (the majority) preferred to see this scream as a decisive factor, rather than all the years of political experience that Howard Dean had. Sad but true.

The media, especially the right-wing media, miosrepresented this. He was in a VERY loud room, trying to be heard above his followers. The media only tapped into HIS mike-- they were not tapping into the crowd noise. If you put ANYONE else in that situation, they will sound a little nuts. It was unfair of FOX et al. to run it hundreds of times.
