Thread: Arguments on why you can't complain if you dont vote?

I'm trying to explain to a group of naive, highly conservative individuals who don't feel as though they need to vote, but say that they will fully indulge in complaining about whoever steps into office (they don't "like" any of the candidates). I can't seem to put into words why they should forfeit their right to complain if they don't vote. Anyone have a good way of getting it through to them (in written form)?

Isn't not voting, voting also. As Americans don't we have a right not to vote as a form of protest? Why do we have to vote for someone we don't support, we don't believe in, be it Demo or Repub or both. Why do you have to come up with insults on a group of people who don't agree with you. Can't you respect thier opinion and their rights. when you demand with insults for them to respect yours? Just doesn't seem right. My opinion!
