officiating last night?? i thought umpires were trying to get rid of the "the ball beating the runner to the base" rules

ian kinsler was safe in his steal of second last night. but since the ball beat him there and tejada sold the tag (which he completely missed) kinsler was called out. next pitch sizemore slaps a single up the middle, kinsler should have scored. game over

later in the game. mclouth's great throw home and great scoop by russel martin. put the tag down after novarro's foot touched the base. technically safe, but the ball beat him home. game shouldve been over

im sad that umps still go by this mental rule..what do you think??

You forgot the NL side though, I think Pujols beat the tag too.
