I haven't read that story but common sense should tell you that if he buys the plane, uses it for the campaign then sells it after the election it would probably be cheaper than chartering a plane.

I don't really care about it. His supporters DONATED him that money for him to use on his campaign in whatever way he wants.
Palin is using tax payers money to go on a shopping spree for herself and her family.
