How do we move from griping and complaining to making changes?
I just watched the documentary that Michael Moore made called The Big One about corporate downsizing and corporations taking jobs outside of the US and it got me to thinking. There has been alot of talking, but isn't it time to stop talking about it and actually effect the changes that we've all as Americans been crying out for to occur? And how exactly do we go about changing those things?
Granted, we've been talking alot about Illegal Aliens crossing our borders with fake Social Security cards and fake ID's stealing our jobs and draining our Welfare System and we've actually started taking steps to stop it. Arizona (I'm not sure about anywhere else) has made it illegal for companies to hire someone without sending their ID's and Social Security numbers through E-Verify and made it illegal to keep people who haven't passed the E-Verify on their payrolls. Arizona has also made it illegal to knowingly keep an illegal alien on it's payroll. But that doesn't really do anything except frustrate people like me who hire someone to do a job only to find out a few days later that I have to let them go because their Social Security number didn't pass the E-Verify test. Nothing is being done to the illegal alien. We've talked about closing our borders and deporting everyone that can't prove their residency.....Isn't it time to stop talking about it, stop bickering about it and just do it?
I've seen alot of talk on here about how Obama sucks as a Democratic choice and McCain sucks as a Republican choice for President and I think we're all making our choices based on what we think is the lesser of two evils......Why is that? Why do WE as a democratic society HAVE to choose between the lesser of two evils? If the two choices we have don't suit our needs......why do we have to choose? Why can't we all come together and say....."We think this guy is a better choice" or why don't we stand up and say, "OH HELL NO!?!?!" to both of them, eliminate them as choices and keep looking until we find someone better? That would be like the Board of Directors of General Motors or any major corporation deciding the lesser of two evils for a management position. They just wouldn't make the choice, they'd keep looking until they found a better candidate. Why do we, the American People, have to do that? Why can't we say NO to Obama who won't hold his hand over his heart during the National Anthem or say the Pledge of Allegence to the Flag (how is he supposed to be sworn in, btw, as President of the United States?) and NO to McCain who in my opinion would be a better choice......but he's 72 years old. Quite frankly, I wonder if he's gonna croak midterm.....lol. I've been choosing the lesser of two evils for the last several elections and quite frankly, I'm tired of it. Isn't it time to stop talking and complaining? Isn't it time to do something? But what do we do about it? How do we effect the changes that we need?
