What does the next ten years hold for New Orleans?

Will people start abandoning parts of the city now? Is it on it's way to being the first major city abandoned due to global warming and climate change? Or will the US Gov start protecting it with expensive defences?

It never should have been built at that location anyway--below sea level,a veritable death trap. After Katrina,a family I know moved to Georgia. They told me many people they know have also relocated. The real problem is the poverty stricken souls of the area--they really have nowhere to go.
