Is DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket Max worth the extra $75?

I'm looking at buying the NFL Sunday Ticket for my husband's birthday, but am wondering if I should get the MAX or the regular? The Max comes with the Redzone Channel and a few other things, but I'm wondering if those are things that most people even use. He's a huge NFL fan and will be thrilled with the regular package, I'm sure, but since it's his birthday, I don't have a problem springing for the extra stuff if I think he'll actually use it.

Any insight?
What is the Redzone Channel and do you actually watch it?
What about the rest of the extras? Do you use them often? Is it worth the extra money?
