Taxes from smoking and booze,go a long way towards paying for the NHS.
Breeding immigrants,and the diseases they bring.,pay nothing.
Yes....why not if they have paid into the system....they are entitled to.
should people who go potholing be saved or those who get lost when they are out walking what about sports people who have injuries
what about work related injuries or DIY injuries when people are hungover or too stupid/careless to look at instructions properly
if we pay tax we should be treated - full stop
Cigarette and alcohol consumption are both legal activities in this country, and as a result, contribute a very hefty sum of money to the Exchequer.
Likewise, those people who indulge in the consumption of cigarettes and alcohol also pay various hefty taxes and duties for the right to do so.
Then too is the fact that everyone who has ever worked and payed Income Tax and National Insurance have also payed for the right to be treated, as part of their National Insurance contribution goes towards the funding of the NHS. So yes, they have every right to be treated.
If they are to be denied their right to treatment, then the government have no right to tax cigarette or alcohol consumption. But this won't happen because the Exchequer would lose billions of pounds. Nor has the NHS the right to deny treatment to anyone because of lifestyle choices.
