Ares MK43 charging handle problems?

OK. So I just got my Ares Mk. 43 airsoft gun today and i'm having one minor problem. I thought the gun was missing the charging handle at first but I was able to find it in the stock. Weird place to put the piece especially after not saying where it was in the instruction manuel but whatever :|
Anyway, I was able to get it on just fine but i'm having one issue. When I try to cock it, it wont budge. Like it just sits their like a piece of metal sticking out of the gun. If it just doesn't move, no problem. It just seems a bit odd that a good airsoft company like Ares has a non functional charging handle on a $500 gun, which is why I have come to the conclusion that something is wrong with the charging mechanism. If this is the case, please tell me how to fix it. Thanks :)
