My husband is obsessed with politics...it's ruining marriage. What can I do.?

My husband is hard core conservative and is obsessed with politics. Constantly watches political shows and listens to radio programs. He wasn't like this when we met and says he's just now becoming educated. We fight about it constantly. We share the same views only I'm probably a little more liberal. That is all he wants to talk about and is SO closed minded about any other people's views. He says his views are based on fact so the other people are just ignorant. We are fighting constantly and I'm freaked out. This man is seriously obsessed. One note...he's a stay at home dad which I think is contributing to the insanity, but all our friends are liberal so he doesn't have anyone to talk to and I won't talk about it anymore becuase it just turns into a fight. Please help me...I don't know what else to do.

I can't give marital advice, but tell your husband facts aren't shared over talk radio or by pundits -- that's called opinion, facts are found in books with a heavy bibliography and sources.

Find a liberal man to cheat on him with, most conservative mens wives do.

maybe your husband is like me scared!!!! He may be looking toward the future, and to me it looks pretty blek!!!! if we do not get the right learership. Try agreeing with him,maybe give him a pat on the back, for the education he's getting. Some day you may need someone like him, to protect your future!!!!

If it's ruining your marriage than that's both your faults for not finding a happy medium. When talking politics you should never become angered because then it is no longer about politics it's about who is right and who is wrong. Quite childish if you ask me and I have parents who are polar opposites and both are obsessed with their view and they are probably the happiest couple I have ever seen because they do find that happy medium if they do debate because that is what they do is just debate..... no fighting in a verbal manner at all. It's not a bad thing to be very active in your knowledge of politics as long as your mature about it.

You should've married a liberal. He's becoming a hardcore conservative. Those people can be hard to deal with at times. I feel sorry for you. Tell him to turn off the radio and let somebody else worry about the state of the world.

tell him , he is speaking from his own dream, it may not be anyone elses dream, why is he so scared and insecure, fearfull people are dangerous and usually stuck in their own fear dream
