How can I improve the quality of Bluetooth audio?

I'm using Bose AE2w (The wireless ones). When I connect it to my iPhone 5 the quality is perfect, and I have absolutely no problem with the sound or the remote control features. However, when I connect it to my laptop which has (Qualcomm Atheros AR3012) driver, the sounds becomes choppy and the quality sometimes becomes low. This does NOT ALWAYS happen! but it happens often enough to be annoying. Both the headset and the Bluetooth driver use 4.0 version of Bluetooth. Will buying a Bluetooth USB dongle help ? or at least does this solution have a chance to work?

I have also updated both the Bluetooth driver and the audio driver on my laptop. Also updated the headset itself. Did not help.
