I may have the same problem.
My wife's Samsung j700 keeps freezing. We open it and the screen is black. Switching it on starts it up and it begins loading. One of three things usually happens - 1)The screen stops midway and goes off again 2)it comes on fully but there is no signal and no service - but switching off and trying again solves that 3) it works as normal for awhile. No matter what happens, eventually, it comes on but it will soon switch off again without warning. Occasionally, when navigating through menus like "My Messages" the screen freezes midway through and there is a feint buzzing sound, then it goes off again. It seems to stay on longer when connected to the charger but even that hasn't been a given.
