blackberry bold 9000 application memory problem?

hello today i got the new desktop manager, i have just gone into the applications column from the left hand side. it is saying i need to do an core update on the phone (blackberry 4.6 core applications) it doesn't let me do this though. It says application memory exceeded. On my phone i don't have enough application memory but have loads of internal memory because my phone already has 1gb and i dont have any music pics vids.... What is this application memory, and surly i should be able to install this core applications update.
