Only a TELUS branded cell phone will work on the TELUS network. Cell phones come pre-programmed for the carrier you choose. Unlike Rogers and Fido, you're not able to "unlock" a phone first sold on another network and bring it to TELUS.

Ya sure you can purchase new phone and freely use it with telus sim only if it is unlocked one else if the new phone is locked to some other network provider then it wont accept any other GSM sim until you unlock it ..You can easily unlock the phone through online providers like Unlock-Free.com here they are generating network unlock code for some older mobile models at free of cost ...Else if you want to unlock some other new model phone then visit sites like Unlock-Zone.com here they are rendering network unlock code for all mobile models at reliable cost ...You first check that whether the code is available for your mobile model ,country and network provider .If yes then use one among those providers and unlock your phone then freely use it with any GSM sim ...Quote:
