'Vikings' Returns Tonight With An Epic Two-Hour Season 6 Premiere

Vikings returns for its sixth and final season tonight. Season 5 was a hot mess, and didn't really improve until its final episode, which I called the season's best episode, writing: “Hopefully the uptick in quality at the end of Season 5 means that next season will be decent. There was so much of this season that was almost unwatchable—-it really was that bad at times—-but I have a spoonful of hope now. I'd love to see Vikings end well.” And that's the truth. I would love to see this show get the ending it deserves. It's one of my favorite TV shows even despite the bizarre writing choices that made last season so hard to enjoy.
