Thread: Would it help our future economy to have another depression?

In 1929, we had a depression and the prices after that were cheap. The gas was a lot cheaper than it is now and living was a lot cheaper. Do you think if we go into another depression that it would benefit or make the economy worse for the future. I know that at the present time of the depression the economy will be bad but I'm curious to see how long it would take to get out of the depression and if possible how long it would take for prices to drop.

When people in the 1930's made the argued to Keynes that things would be better in the long run if market were left to solve the problem, he replied "that in the long run we are all dead".
The only way prices can be cheaper is if wages are less. and gas will be cheaper because people use less, because they will not be able to afford to drive as much because of their low wages.
