...school in the future? I am a 17-year-old Canadian girl in grade 11 in high school. For most of my life I have aspired to become a family physician, and I am doing everything I can to help me achieve this goal. Out of this list of things that I have done/planning to do partly to increase my chances of getting into medical school in the future, which ones will actually help me do this?
Things I Have Done:
- become fluent in French
-volunteered in a Romanian orphanage/clinic for 3 weeks
-traveled around Australia, Central America, North America, and Europe
-participated in a "MedQuest" summer camp (developed by the medical school I hope to go to) designed to provide students interested in pursuing a medical career with realistic experiences in the field of medicine
-gotten a 95% or 96% average in school in the past 2 years
-am currently in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, which is a challenging two-year program of international education
-have won many academic awards at school
-am very involved in extracurricular activities at school
Things I Plan on Doing/Will Do
-I will have more than 200 hours of volunteer hours by the time I graduate from high school
-I plan on learning Spanish
-I'm hoping to volunteer in an orphanage in Peru next year
