Islam is a religion that was created for a tribal desert society 1400 years ago. By its dogmatic nature, it does not allow for growth, development, re-invention and intellectual progress etc. Moreover it has proven to be incapable of integrating into modernity and sophistication.

I accept and appreciate that Muslims tend to have much more love, appreciation and respect for their religion than Christians, Hindus, Buddhists have for theirs. Neverthless my question is that will it be "possible" for Islam to exist in the future. For example: Muslims are required to bow down 5 times a day to the Mecca Kaaba (whatever it's called)...So what will they do in the year 2500 when mankind starts to venture out into space? When Mankind builds settlements on the moon and on mars - what direction will they face? Another example is the hijab - 1400 years ago man was more in tune with his biological primitive nature in the sense that he was more easily aroused by women. In that time it made sense to ask women to cover up. Today (2008) man is no where near as bestial as he was but has become a slave to logic, reason and intellect as opposed to human senses and urges...So even today the hijab is coming into question. Clearly in the year 3000 when man has made even more progress in terms of mental evolution and sophistication, how will anyone demand that women wear the hijab - when the very precedent for wearing the hijab (easily arousable men) will be absent.

With the advent of digital technology, space travel and revolutions in engineering etc, with mankind using more than 10% of their brain power won't the teachings of Islam appear primitive?
