Thread: Why do politicians all pretend we are avoiding some future recession when...

...we are already in one? How long do we have to be in a recession before people start admitting it? Do they only say we are in a recession after it is over?

We are not in a recession yet. The data does not support it. We are on the plus side of the GDP. Unemployment was caused by high gas prices. But not high unemployment none the less. Those numbers will correct itself once gas prices stabilize. The housing market has also added to the unemployment situation. Besides, you need a minimum of 2 consecutive quarters with bad numbers to indicate the beginning of a recession.

Michigan has been in a recession from the beginning of Bush . Im so happy its spreading maybe people will take notice now .

well according to the definition of recession we are not in one,so maybe they are following that as a guideline

Lets talk about admitting truth in polotics and Media.
