There are many quotations from the OT in the NT. It shows these people were well versed in the Mosaic Law and the scriptures they had then, not ignorant uneducated at all.
This also shows the entire Bible is a seamless work, not divided as many try to believe.
Some things were prophecies. Others were just true statements. jesus identified hypocritical clergy of his time with quotations from works they knew to be from God. Or apostles wrote quotations proving the point they were making was true.
Whoa, loaded question.
Let's walk through this one together, okay Skip?
You are taking the Bible out of context. EVEN IF someone is never indicated to be something doesn't mean they aren't. Absence of evidence is NOT evidence of absence.
Secondly, facts do not work this way. You can't just DECREE that something is so.
Next time, check your non-existent logic at the door.
Okay, Skip?
Actually it is prophectic, the Psalmist is describing the desolation of Israel, and it did indeed happen after the death of Christ as He said it would...
Why does the Qur'an disobey its own edicts and twists the facts of the Bible?
You may believe the Qur'an and take its verdict over the Bible. We do the reverse. It is called a religion, a faith in a particular holy book.
Doesn't the Qur'an claim that Christ didn't die, while he himself actively demonstrated that he did so!
Does the Qur'an condemn those that believe in parts of scripture, but not all of what such a holy book contains?
Doesn't the Qur'an reject God having sons, while the Bible claims otherwise in both the OT and NT!
004.157 That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
Al-Qur'an, 004.157 (An-Nisa [Women])
002.085 . . . Then is it only a part of the Book that ye believe in, and do ye reject the rest? but what is the reward for those among you who behave like this but disgrace in this life?- and on the Day of Judgment they shall be consigned to the most grievous penalty. For Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.
Al-Qur'an, 002.085 (Al-Baqara [The Cow])
It is amazing how much the Qur'an opposes the Biblical account. When David is shown to sin seriously in the Bible, Islam claims that a prophet such as David cannot sin in that manner and that the Bible's claim are wrong.
In every way, Islam is fighting the Bible, be it the OT or the NT. Remember, that those who do not believe in Jesus and his ransom are already judged it says.
It's hard to found a new religion. If you can find a way to twist the books of an older religion in order to fool the uneducated, then it becomes much easier to attract larger numbers of followers.
They never did.
Old Testament focused on the Lamb of God.
Everyone else was just an instrument used by God to show the value of Jesus.
Picking apart the bible to find fault with it is the act of someone under the control of something unlike God.
Psalms are loaded with prophecy - especially about Christ. Psalm 69 is definitely prophesying about Jesus' death and surrounding events.
In fact, the entire Old Testament is loaded with prophecy, foreshadow, types, anti-types, symbols all pointing to Christ. It's fun to look for them.
Luke 24:26-27 Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?" (27) And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
