Why are Christians denouncing Camping when history is filled with their...

...false prophecies too? From the Seventh Day Adventists to the Lutherans to the Presbyterians to the Mennonites, and on and on.

Jesus himself couldn't even fufill his own prediction, so I think they ought to give old Harold a break.

Luke 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man COMING IN A CLOUD with power and great glory.
21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
    21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation SHALL NOT PASS AWAY, TILL ALL BE FULFILLED.

Luke 9:27 NAB Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.

Matthew 16:28 There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.

-Why is it only context when there is a discrepancy? Most theologians know that they were talking about THAT generation.
-Archer, apparently you don't understand that there are about a billion that still believe it and decide public policy, especially in the U.S.
-Kiwi was the Son of man coming in that cloud?
-Atarah, read this and you'll see he meant the people he was speaking to: 'So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand'.

'Verily I say unto you, This generation SHALL NOT PASS AWAY, TILL ALL BE FULFILLED'.

Context, remember? The generation that sees the "fig tree produce leaves." "Generation" can also be translated "race."

And the Matthew 16 prophecy WAS fulfilled. The guy who wrote Revelation was one of those standing there when Jesus said that.

Edit: If Jesus meant that specific generation, He would have said, "YOUR generation." And again, "generation" can also be translated "race."

''this generation shall not pass away til ll be fulfilled'' That generation did not pass away until all was fulfilled.

Luke 9:27 .. Look up the story of the stoning of Stephen . He saw Jesus sitting at the right hand of the Father . He was one of them who did not taste death but saw the kingdom of God.
The apostle John who is said to have written Revelations also was one who saw the kingdom of God prior to his death. He was told to Come up here.

Many people report seeing into heaven and seeIing angels and the cloud of witnesses. The cloud Jesus speaks of is the cloud of witnesses.

I have read the generation passage several times, and not only do I feel that it refers to the generation that will see the signs of the coming of Christ but also a lot of meaning may have been lost in translation. The Matthew 16:28 passage almost certainly refers to John, the author of Revelation who witnessed the coming of the Kingdom of God in his vision.

The other passages refer to events that predict the end of the world, whenever it happens. Many biblical prophecies such as the fall & revival of Israel have come to pass.

I'm not religious but it's because camping constantly keeps ignoring this verse.

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
    Matthew 24:36

The churches and TV evangelists have been making false predictions for decades. The reason so many christians hate Camping is because he busted on the churches and showed by scripture how satan is in control. This causes the church people to hate him.

You are wrong. Jesus was CLEARLY talking about the generation that would see the fig tree come into leaf....He was not referring to the generation of that time.
