Thread: use to be told to think about the future, now it's think about now?

I've always been told to think about the future, but due to terrible past events I tend to think about it often. Like someone in my family i.e my mother or someone would bring up a past event that didn't turn out greatly and I was told to think about the future and not now. But now i'm being told to just focus on NOW.

I'm really confused
What do you suggest.

Should I give up on thinking about the past even when i'm reminded of it?

Should I quit thinking about the future? and focus on now?

This may be seriously confusing.

It doesn't matter whether it's the past, present or future. It is what it is! You can, however, live your life in such a manner that a positive and productive future is possible. Logically speaking, you will never see the future anyway, because tomorrow WILL NEVER come. When tomorrow gets here it will be today and you will still be living in the present.

All I can tell you is relax take one day at a time. Stop being so pessimistic you never know what the future holds. Hell, tomorrow you could win 1,000 dollars, u never know.
