Thread: Tell me what you think about my future sons name. It helps if you are familar with

the bible character abraham? Ok........... so Im pregnant by a guy whos name is abraham and he is married but when i got pregnant i didnt know that. ( thats a long story) but anyways his wife (Like Sarah) has 2 daughters and it just so happens when he was messing around with me out of wed lock, i got a son which is his first born. i was planning to name him Ishmael. In some way i feel like Hagar.
My son will find out what his dad did anyway when he grows up and see that his sisters are older than him and that his dad is married. So no i dont feel bad about telling my son the truth. His dad ask me to name him that.

His father is muslim

Name the kid whatever you want, but that name sounds a bit dated..

It is ironic, but you know Ishmael is considered the father of Islam. Not bad or good just fact.

1) Sarah did not have any kids.

2) Unless you are a slave, don't pretend to be like Hagar.

3) Do you really want to tell your son that cute story when he asks you why his name is "Ishmael"?

I like it.

Why would you curse your son by giving him a name of someone who would not be part of the blessing? Please remember the story is different. And don't throw your problems on your child.
