    Question about the bible's prophecies?

I read about the bible having fulfilled prophecies, like israel becoming its own state.

But here's the thing. If the bible has had even one prophecy that turned out to be wrong, then it's all false.

So what's your take on this?

The bible is actually seperate books put together by man. If a prophecy is worng, only that author is, not the other books.
Take the book of John as an example. It has the day of the last supper and death of Jesus on a different day then the other three. That shows that john is wrong.

other problems come with translation error.
see this site, it will help a lot on how bad the problems are.
    Hope that helps

    Don't forget self fulfilling prophecies.

The creation of Israel was pushed by powerful Western countries with a Christian tradition.

    Isn't that interesting?

That's like saying that if you ever got one math problem wrong in school, then you got them all wrong. I guess it's a good thing logic like that isn't usually seen in the wild. A better approach might be this: If even one of them proves to be true, shouldn't you sit up and take notice? How about if more than one is true? How many will it take before you decide to take the Word of God seriously?

Pi =/= 3. Therefore, the Bible is wrong.

    See how easy that was?

You mean like the second coming happening within the lifetime of the authors of the New Testament?

The Bible was written over a period of 1400 to 1800 years by more than 40 different authors.
There are 66 different books in the bible and the last one was written almost 2000 years ago.
Altogether the book is about 3500 years old.

There has not been one false prophesy since then...

You're right, if even just one is turns out to be wrong then GOD IS A LIAR.
And the bible would be worthless.....

So until then, I'll believe whatever it says in there.

Well considering that the Roman Emperor Nero was actually considered the Antichrist back in the day, and that the thousand year barbaric reign of Catholic fundamentalism during the middle ages was only ended during the Reformation and religious wars before the Enlightenment, and that the tale was solidified by the English King James when he rewrote the bible for English Angelicalism...suggests to me that it's more of a warning or a cycle, or even a moral tale rather than literal.

Seeing that history tends to follow the bible already pretty well, in my opinion the book of "Revelation" already happened. And it happened when the Roman Emperor Constantine founded the Catholic Church.

That is assuming you're following the King James edition, which was written 1600 years after Christ lived.
