If World Government is a prediction from the Bible why are so many Christians...

...against it ? According to revelations there would be a world Government ... and it would lead to the end of the world as we know it ... there would be wars/disease and famine etc... BUT it would also herald the return of Jesus Christ......

Yet I see often on Yahoo Answers .. people who have called themselves Christian ... up in arms at the mention of a World Government..... SURELY .. Real Christians would be supportive of a World Government because it means the return of the Messiah

to be against it .. surely must be considered to be AGAINST GOD'S WILL ...

If what I have written isn't true .. please explain to me why ?

    Thank-you.
actually Capt awesome .. I'd only resist If I KNEW it was gunna hurt

If you love life and I tell you you're going to die because that's life you'll still resist it.

You are fudging logic here. Yes, some Christians believe that the world government is an inevitability as described in the Bible, but despise the world government nonetheless because it is inherently evil. Even though a world government would eventually lead to the return of Jesus Christ, there would be a ''delay'' between such periods, and the transition from point A (world government) to point B (return of Jesus) consists of famine, wars/disease and other erroneous situations.

Take it another way. Why do Christians (and indeed, the other Abrahamic religions) despise death, if death is the only way that they will be able to meet their respective superior deity? No one likes these evil scenarios to occur, but the main point is that evil is not "all that there is". Good eventually wins in the end. It is human nature to focus primarily on the most immediate and imminent circumstances; why else is the credit industry in such bad shape?

If god tells you you're going to die because the bridge up ahead is out, would you stop or keep going? I mean, it's god's will that you die right?
