I am charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime what

punishment can i expect? I was arrested along with a co-worker yesterday because we took $1100 in gift cards, we are being charged together with felony charges, our bail was $20,000 each, its both of our first offenses we had never done anything bad b4 so our records were clean, we had both been working there for about two years now, our court date is on the 17th, what kind of punishment can we expect, we already returned the stolen property?

    Would i require a lawyer?

I would talk to a lawyer and see what they say. I had a bit of a run of trouble myself, all I had to do was pay back the money and court costs. didn't have bail or anything like that, cause it wasn't grand theft.(anything over $1,000 is grand theft) you may just get probation, since it's your first offense.

Yes, a lawyer would be a good idea.

it's a felony and you need a criminal lawyer, you could get a suspended sentence since it's your first offense

ALWAYS get a lawyer. He/she will be able to advise you regarding what you might expect at sentencing. Good luck. I hope this leads you down the best possible path for the rest of your life.
